Evening Füsters!
Week 1 is behind us and you should’ve started to develop a basic cadence to your Füsting experience. Remember that pre-planning your week is an excellent way to insure your success during Winterfüste. Plan out both your meals and your work-outs to make them best fit around your work and general lifestyle!
Now for this week’s game update:
Most people don’t make it past January 12th with any of their New Year’s resolutions. But not you, Füster! GG aims to reward you for this dedication to yourself and the Füste! If you scored all three daily points from the Startenfüste (Jan. 2nd) through tomorrow, Jan. 12th (so that’s your food point, your alcohol point and your exercise point) then you’ll score yourself a +1p Quitter’s Day Bonus! And you’ll have earned some bragging rights over your non-Füsting friends and family who have statistically already given up on 2026!
One issue that pops up year over year is how Bonus activities interact with your daily workout requirement. If you read each Bonus description on the Bonuspunkte page, you’ll note that GG will always let you know if that Bonus does or does not count as a daily workout. For instance, this week’s Long Winter Wog is 5 miles. From a distance perspective, that’s more than enough to count as a Singelt walk/hike or run. As long as you meet the requirements of whichever Singelt parameter you’re going to use (for a walk/hike you’ll need a pace of less then 20 min/mile, for a run you’ll need a pace of less than 15 min/mile), you can complete the Long Winter Wog and have it count both as a the Bonus AND as a Singelt for that day’s exercise. One other thing specific to this example: yes, you can reduce a Singelt walk from 4 miles to 3 miles by carrying 15 pounds of weight BUT that would obviously not meet the distance requirement for the Long Winter Wog (5 miles) so the weight carrying distance reduction offered for the Singelt walk can not be used if also completing the Long Winter Wog.
