Week 3: Double Time!

Füsters,

Week 3 is upon us and it’s time to kick it up a notch! Starting tomorrow, Doppelt game play begins and continues for the next three weeks. What’s a Doppelt? It’s the opportunity to either complete two separate workouts (ride your bike for 15 miles AND swim 1500 yards) OR double a Singelt workout parameter (e.g. a 5 mile run instead of 3 . . . yes, yes, GG know’s that’s not technically double the mileage but you get the gist). You’ll want to review the exercise parameters for the Doppelt requirements for each separate workout HERE.

Here’s what else’s is going on this week:

  • Speaking of Doppelts, this week you’re allowed to complete 3 of them. That means three days this week you can do a Doppelt and the other four days you stay with a Singelt (what you’ve been doing the last two weeks).

  • Monday is a great day to weigh-in and see how you’re doing. By this point in the game you should have dropped a couple pounds. If your weight hasn’t changed since the Startenfüste, then you’re probably not working as hard as you could. Now’s the time to recommit for the 5 remaining weeks of Sömmer Kamp (and no, you don’t need to send GG your weight again).

  • This week GG’s got a Sömmer surprise for you! One day this week (whichever day you’d like), you can take a the day off from exercise and instead go play a game of miniature golf! So not only do you get a rest day but you also get to have some fun! All you have to do is send GG a short video of you making a putt at the miniature golf place and you’ll earn your exercise point for the day. It’s that easy, If you don’t want to play golf then you’ll just exercise like normal. Totally up to you.

  • This week sees the Long Sömmer Stroll and the So Many Stairs bonuses increase again in distance and flights. You also get to complete your second Parkenfüste bonus and the After Dark bonus gets in on the action too. Go HERE for more.

  • Don’t forget that tomorrow is a fasting day, dawn to 6:00pm local time. Go get hangry!

That’s it for now. Hope you all have a great Week 3!

GG

Week 2: Coming in Hot!

Morning Füsters,

Well, Sömmer is definitely here and it’s hotter than a long dog laying out on his favorite spot of concrete under the noon day sun (trust GG, it’s a thing . . . and they get HOT). Hopefully everyone survived the first week of Sömmer Kamp and is ready for more of the same as the forecast for the rest of the game seems to be heat piled on top of heat. Good reason to keep your workouts to the early morning or late evenings . . .

Here’s the Week 2 game update:

  • This week is the last week of Singelt only game play so take this chance to continue to ease your way into Sömmer Kamp as next week it’s Doppelt the fun.

  • New Week 2 bonuses are posted. There’s a significant change to the Climb bonus series that should make the cyclists in the game pretty happy (until they see what Bonus #3 looks like). Make sure you review the details HERE.

  • Keep working on your Daily 50 homework assignment. If you did only this, you’d see a huge change over the 7 weeks of Sömmer Kamp!

  • Drink coupons: remember, you needed to earn a total of 7 exercise points between Monday, July 15th and Sunday, July 21st to earn a drink coupon good for Week 2. GG will let you know if you earned one after he reviews the scoring. If you did get yourself a coupon, the way to use it is to have your drink and then the next day report on the DRT that you “did not earn” your drink point. You’ll then see a question asking if you have a coupon to use. Select “yes” and you’ll get your drink point back! It’s that easy.

  • Last night’s surprise full moon bonus pointed out an issue GG is having with time zones. For those Füsting on the East Coast or Central Time Zone, GG promises to push out communications earlier in the day so that you get them at a reasonable hour.

  • Don’t forget today is the second Fastentag of the game. No food till 6:30pm local time!

That’s it for today. Hopy everyone has a great Week 2. Get out there and earn those exercise punkte!

GG

Willkommen to Week 1 of Sömmer Kamp!

Evening, Füsters!

Hopefully the three day “game intro” over this weekend wasn’t too painful or complicated for you. Bonuses were easy, weather wasn’t terrible (at least here at The Füste HQ), and the sun is staying up late to give you extra time to get stuff done!

Here’s your Week 1 game update:

  • No real issues on the reporting front this weekend. One thing of note, don’t forget that sometimes what you do for daily exercise will also count towards a bonus opportunity, e.g. if there’s a 1.5 mile Long Sömmer Stroll bonus on the table and for your daily exercise you do a 4 mile walk, you can claim the bonus too! Don’t short yourself bonuspunkte when you’ve earned it!

  • Speaking of bonuspunkte, you’ve got three bonus activity opportunities this week:

    • The Long Sömmer Stroll bonus series continues, this week with a 3 mile walk/run. You can probably see where this is going . . .

    • The So Many Stairs bonus series also continues with 25 flights. Shut up legs!

    • The first non-weekly bonus (still a series tho) also drops with Parkenfüste #1. Go for a three mile walk/run in any city/county/state/National park to score this bonus.

    • Go HERE for more details on these bonuses!

  • Sömmer Skūl starts tomorrow with its daily assigned homework. For those of you who have Füsted before, we’re going to try something a little different this time. Go HERE for details!

  • Tomorrow is also the first Fastentag of Sömmer Kamp. This means that once the sun comes up, you’re stuck with clear liquids only till 6pm. Yes, the strict definition of a Fastentag is dawn to dusk but with Sömmer’s late sunsets, GG doesn’t want to push you to eating too late in the evening as that would be counterproductive for the what we’re trying to accomplish. So, no food from dawn to 6pm, tomorrow. Be there and be prepared to be hangry!

  • And tomorrow is also the first day you start earning credit towards your first drink coupon. Remember, scored 7 total workout points between tomorrow and next Sunday and you’ll earn a drink coupon redeemable during Week 2.

  • And just a final reminder: GG is one person (no AI here!) with a whole other full time job that will sometimes get in the way of responding back to you in a timely manner. Please just be patient if you text and don’t get an immediate reply; GG will always do his best to respond to questions and requests same day (unless you hit him up after about 10pm). Coming up this week, there will be an all day comms black out on Wednesday as GG will be in a very long in person meeting and won’t be able to monitor his game phone. Just FYI.

Alright, that’s enough for now. Hope everyone has a great Week 1 and remember, significant change does not come without significant effort so put the time in here! Sömmer Kamp is only 7 weeks; not a very long time to commit to something that will make you healthier and happier. Good luck!

GG

SÖMMER KAMP OPEN FOR BUSINESS!

Evening, Füsters!

Tomorrow is the first day of Sömmer Kamp ‘24 and as such it’s time to get your head in the game and prepare for all out warfare on your flank meat! This isn’t going to be easy but nothing in life ever is. For those who haven’t attended Sömmer Kamp before, it’s considerably shorter than Winterfüste but what it lacks in temporal length it more then makes up for with pure unadulterated intensity. This is going to be a knock down, drag out fight with your flank meat and when the dust settles in late August, you’ll (hopefully) be the only one left standing!

GG assumes you’ve taken the time to familiarize yourself with the Regelbuch (Rule Book) but if you haven’t, why not head over there right now and get reacquainted with how this game works (go HERE). If you’re new to Füsting, you should have already read through the Quick Start Guide and the Rulebook and be chomping at the proverbial bit (if you have any questions or need clarification on something, always feel free to text GG for help). Make sure to also review the Schmerzenfüste (exercise) parameters for Sömmer Kamp, as some have changed from last Winter (go HERE).

Okay, enough of the formalities, let’s talk about Day 1, the Startenfüste!

  • First, please sign the game liability waiver so that GG can comfortably torture you for the next 7 weeks (go HERE). The Füste is a small, one man shop and not really worth much but this is still America and GG needs to cover his rear end. Thank you for understanding.

  • Next, tomorrow morning at sun-up, game play begins. The first thing you’re going to want to do is roll that bloated carcass you call a body out of bed and face the unthinkable: strip down, hop on a scale and take a good hard look at reality. While you’re there, take a quick pic of the number on the scale and send it to GG via text (and look, if you’ve got gnarly coyote paws for feet, please, please, please just put some socks on before taking that pic; GG has seen things no one should ever see and you don’t need to add to his collective trauma). You’ll also report your weight again on the DRT on Saturday morning.

  • After that, the day is yours, except this day you won’t be eating sugar or processed krap, you won’t be drinking alcohol and you’re going to get out into the heat of Sömmer and complete a designated Singelt workout. However you do this is your choice, just make sure it meets the workout requirements and that you either track it on STRAVA or send GG some proof with heart rate data showing you did what you were supposed to do!

  • This first weekend has two very easy bonus opportunities for you: a simple 1.5 mile walk and a very easy 10 flights of stairs (go HERE for details on these and other bonus opportunities). Remember, you can only complete one bonus activity per day (unless GG tells you differently). Make sure you complete both of these bonuses this weekend (on separate days) so you don’t fall behind as Week 1 begins on Monday! And don’t worry, the bonus activities, they get a lot harder as we go forward in the game . . . A LOT harder so really just enjoy this simple, quiet time in your life cause in a couple weeks, you’re going to look back at these first two bonuses and just shake your head ruefully.

  • There’s no “homework” this weekend (that’s the fun bodyweight strength work you’ll be doing every day in addition to your Schmerzenfüste workouts); Sömmer Skūl starts Monday and GG will send out details on your homework in Sunday night’s game update.

  • GG is sure a couple of you are wondering about the tantalizing concept of “drink coupons”. Yes, GG is not a complete monster and this year he’s going to try letting the Füsters have a little bit of Sömmer fun. Here’s how it works: to earn your first drink coupon (worth +1 Drunkenpunkte that can be used at your discretion), you need to score a total of 7 workout points during Week 1 of game play. So starting on Monday, if you complete a Singelt workout each day of next week to a total of 7, you’ll earn a drink coupon that can then be used during Week 2. So there’s a little bit of carrot to go with all the stick that comes with Sömmer Kamp. Only restriction when you use the coupon is that you’re not allowed to have a sugar filled “mixed drink”; beer and wine are fine, hard alcohol on the rocks is okay too but you’re not guzzling down a Piña Colada on GG’s watch, no sir/ma’am. Make peace with this now, gentle Füster.

  • Couple of pro-tips before the game starts:

    • Maybe go get yourself a weighted vest (especially if you’re a serial Füster), as walking with weight is a thing and wearing a back pack full of rocks and hand weights kinda sucks.

    • Locate a quarter mile track in your immediate area. School’s out for Sömmer so any high school or junior high track should do nicely.

    • Find a good staircase, a friendly staircase with a nice cross breeze and a pleasant view at the top (try to avoid gross, urine scented parking garage staircases full of cigarette butts that would make the liability waiver necessary). You’re going to be spending a lot of time going up it so you might as well like where you’re at.

    • Go right now and clear all the krap out of your pantry and fridge that doesn’t meet the food parameters. Or if you’re living with non-Füsters (brave, brave soul), at least get them to put it all in one cupboard and out of your line of sight.

Okay, that’s pretty much enough for now. Tomorrow, sun-up, your flank meat on one side of the town square, you on the other. It’s time for a show down! Get the Startenfüste under your belt, make your first report using the Daily Reporting Tool on Saturday morning (remember, you’ll always report for the previous day’s activities) and GG will check back in on Sunday night. Just ease in here, there’s a lot to come that’s going to terrify your flank meat plenty. But that’s why you’re here and GG thanks you for that.

Welcome to Sömmer Kamp!

May the Füste be with you in the coming weeks,

Griswalde Grolar

WF24 Out Briefing

HALLO FÜSTERS!

By now you should have already seen the game results from last night but in case you didn’t go over to the Bestenliste, let GG sum things up here:

  • This year there were 7 (count ‘em, SEVEN) players who earned the designation of Bestenfüste (these players scored every possible point):

    • Barn Owl

    • Binturong

    • Eurasian Wolf

    • Frost Cricket

    • Mink

    • Panda

    • Ringtail

  • Some interesting facts about these players . . .

    • This is the second Bestenfüste title earned by Barn Owl (in just the past two years). She is now part of a very elite club of Füsters who have won two titles (only two other players have achieved this).

    • Something that’s never happened before, we had not just one but two power couples finish as Bestenfi: E. Wolf & Panda and Binturong & Mink.

    • We had three Neo-Füsters (first time Füsters) finish in 1st place: Binturong, Mink and Ringtail

    • Frost Cricket finally won here first Bestenfüste title after being on the bubble for multiple years!

  • Title of BESTEN-NEOFÜSTE goes to Ringtail, who not only held the highest number of solo days in first place but wass also the ONLY player to have sat in first place on any given day of Winterfüste.

  • Remember, every player who finished will have earned at the very least a Blue Campaign Ribbon signifying you completed an entire Winterfüste event. Other ribbons will be rewarded based on overall ranking and other accomplishments, like a Podium Finish, Top 10, Top 25, Top 50, Top 100 (NA for WF24), etc. GG will be reaching out individually this week to let you know what you earned!

HAUS GAME PLAY

  • Last night, GG erroneously reported Bärenhaus for the Bestenhaus win but this was a premature call! Turns out that after weight loss was factored in (and some late reports), Wienerhuas is our BESTENHAUS for WF24 (sorry, Bärenhaus, GG didn’t mean to fake you out like that!)

  • For the first time in a century, we have new Haus Proktors to report:

    • Bärenhaus: Proktor Ringtail

    • Drachenhaus: Proktor Mink

    • Skorpionhaus: Proktor Skunk

    • Wienerhaus: Proktor Panda

    • Wolfshaus: Proktor Eurasian Wolf

NOW IT’S TIME FOR SOME STATISTICS!

DISTANCE TRAVELED

  • TRUE: 13,301 miles, or roughly 53% around the circumference of the of Earth or the distance from San Francisco to Cairo, taking a direct line of sight route across the Pacific and the Far East. Or another way to think of it would be that we collectively walked/ran/cycled/swum/rowed from SF to Boston and back to SF twice and then once more to Boston. So we effectivley crossed the United States FIVE TIMES.

  • SUPPLEMENTED: 18,122 miles if we include spinning at an average of 13mph . . . so that SEVEN TIMES across the US.

DISTANCE TOTALS

  • Cycling: 2865 miles

  • Walking/Hiking: 7259 miles

  • Running: 3043 miles

  • Swimming: 108,067 yards or 61 miles

  • Rowing: 118,699 meters or 73 miles

  • Spinning: 22,251 minutes or 370 hours

SCHMERZENFÜSTE CHAMPIONS

  • Cycling: Doe Eagle (537 miles)

  • Walking/Hiking: Long Tailed Weasel (314 miles)

  • Running: Binturong (333 miles)

  • Swimming: Frost Cricket (15775 yards)

  • Rowing: Grolarbär (45000 meters)

  • Spinning: Eurasian Wolf (35 hours)

WEIGHT LOST

  • Total for all Füsters who reported their weight loss: 529 pounds of flank meat

  • Average amount of flank meat lost per Füster: 12 pounds

  • Top 3 Füsters:

    • Eurasian Wolf: 30 pounds

    • Panda: 28 pounds

    • Polecat: 21 pounds

  • By Haus

    • Bärenhaus: Total 113 pounds/Average 12.6 pounds

    • Drachenhaus: Total 72 pounds/Average 8 pounds

    • Skorpionhaus: Total 98 pounds/Average 14 pounds

    • Wienerhaus: Total 121 pounds/Average 17 pounds

    • Wolfshaus: Total 88 pounds/Average 9.7 pounds

Well, that’s it, Füsters. Another game is in the books. That makes eight years in a row that we’ve completed Winterfüste since reintroducing the Füste to modern culture. GG does note that we started with 120 players this year and we only finished with just over 50, which is a significant increase in player drops then in past years. GG will have to do some digging to source out what’s happened there. Some good news, GG is closer then he’s ever been to legitimizing the Füste with a real app and servers and the whole thing so hopefully by next year he can offer you a more controlled (from a reporting, rewards and data perspective) and entertaining experience. As always, one of the biggest takeaways should be that you can really do anything you set your mind to . . . many Füsters this year didn’t think they were capable of walking 10 miles or slaying their Drachen but they did (and surprised themselves in the process). Now the challenge to you is to not let this be a one off for 2024 but actually be the starting point for you to keep moving forward with some of the good habits you’ve forced yourself into over the last 10 weeks. Are you going to continue to completely avoid sugar and alcohol? For most players, the answer is no. But can you make a deal with yourself and say you’ll keep alcohol to the weekends and maybe sugar once a week? That might be a good bridge from Winterfüste back to reality. But the one thing you can certainly continue to do is finding the time to be active and exercise. You just did it for almost every day since the New Year. There’s no reason you can’t continue that hard earned trend. Just that alone will increase your health and well being ten fold so do your best to stay the course. Remember, you’ll have much more success with preplanning your week and providing structure for yourself. Keep doing stairs. Keep going for long wogs. Earn a Singelt everyday if you can. And we’ll see you again down the road, maybe sooner than you think if GG can muster the fortitude to introduce his vision of “maintenance Füsting”. We’ll see what happens. As always though, GG just wants to thank all of you for the dedication and commitment you showed over the last ten weeks, not just to the game but to yourself. Ultimately, the Füste is all about you, designed for you, lovingly curated so that you can be the best version of yourself possible. GG hopes you got a bit of that out of this Winterfüste and that you have an incredibly successful 2024. Please take care of yourselves and stay safe out there and maybe we’ll see you on the Spielbrett again later this year.

As always, may the Füste be ever with you.

Griswalde Grolar

Week 9 . . . Höllenwoche 😈

Hallo Füsters!

Let GG be the first to congratulate you on making it all the way to the final week of Winterfüste ‘24! And yes, it may be known as the Höllenwoche (if you haven’t Google translated that yet, you probably should, just so you get yourself in the right headspace), but what a glorious way to finish out this event by going all in and leaving everything on the Spielbrett!

  • First, there’s six days left and six individual bonuses to score (including the Drachenfüste Allowance, which has been live since Saturday), not to mention you final Fastentag, your Final Exam on Saturday, and whatever you’re doing with your Haus game! Long live Höllenwoche!

  • This week you may complete 5 Trippelt workouts and 1 Doppelt/Singelt (there is no rest day during Höllenwoche!)

  • Final Fastentag is tomorrow, dawn to dusk. If you did all 9 Fastentags then you’ll score a +9p Completion Bonus when you report on Tuesday!

  • While we’re on the topic of Completion Bonuses, remember there are big bonuses for completing the Parkenfüste series, the Mt. Climb series, and the weekly Stairs and LWW series. You’ll also score big on the Haus side if you completed all the Lucky Friend and Scavenger Hunt events too.

  • Speaking of the Scavenger Hunt, here’s your last assignment of the game: find a quiet outdoor location from where you can send GG a video explaining how you intend to incorporate some part of the Füste into your daily life. Call it an important reflection on the value of what you just did for yourself since starting WF24 on January 2nd. Too many times a strong and competent Füster will slip off the path in the coming weeks and GG thinks if you just take a moment to express how you might hold strong, you’ll be better set up for success!

  • Don’t forget that next Saturday, the Finalefüste, you have your Final Exam. If you remember from when we started, this means you must complete one of the following Homework parameters:

    • 100 Pushups!

    • 200 Situps!

    • 300 Squatenfüste

You only need to do one (but GG wouldn’t stop you if you wanted to really flex and complete all three). You can split the total up over the entire day, e.g. do 10 pushups at the top of each hour for 10 hours, that would do it. Only complication is that Winterfüste ends at 5pm on March 9th so make sure you figure that into your calculations! And yes, video proof is required!

  • And for those who need a little extra motivation this final week, remember that just by completing the full Winterfüste event, you’ll earn your Wahlkampfband Weiß (White Campaign Ribbon . . . formerly known as a Gürtel), which is an accomplishment all on its own. And Wahlkampfbands follow you through your game career . . . once you’ve earned one, whatever the color, it’s part of your Füste portfolio and will have downstream positive effects. So finish strong, even if that mean you only score your daily three points each day of the final week, that’s still amazing work!

Alright, that’s it for GG for now . . . good luck this week and remember to finish strong! You’re only 6 days away from being able to be a lazy long dog again (not that GG would ever condone such a thing) so no reason not to give it your all for Week 9! May the Füste be with you!

GG

Ghost in the Machine

Morning, Füsters . . .

Just a couple things to update you on as we go in to the penultimate weekend of WF24:

  • What is (or was, rather) Füstenween? Well, that’s a left over from past Füste events that somehow got left on the DRT. As I’m sure you can tell, GG’s been a bit challenged this go round with issues on the DRT and communications in general. Not sure if it’s his aging brain or what exactly, but he’ll get things cleaned up for future events and apologizes for any confusion this Winterfüste. Just ignore the Füstenween thing on today’s DRT as we did not do that this year.

  • Many have asked if they can complete their Drachen starting tomorrow (as opposed to Sunday) and GG is going to allow this. Just understand that you won’t be able to score it yourself until Tuesday’s DRT. So if you take the early slayage option of Sat or Sun, you have to report it directly to GG so he can add the points for you or you have to wait till Tuesday’s report. GG’s fine either way.

  • Does the Drachenfüste count as a Trippelt? Absolutely. Okay, so what if I take the early slayage option this Sat or Sun but I’ve already scored all four of my Trippelts for this week? Then what you’ll do is report it as a Doppelt or Singelt or day off (whatever you have left this week) and then next week you’ll get yourself a free Trippelt for any day you want.

  • Many are taking the walking/hiking option for their Drachen slayage and GG is reducing that specific requirement to 16 miles total. As that will be 5+ hours of walking, GG feels this is an appropriate amount of time to reflect the “5 workouts” requirement of the standard Drachen. He still feels strongly it would be more fun and def more interesting for a Füster to do multiple different kinds of exercise as part of their Drachen but if you just have to walk it out, 16 miles is the distance you’ll want to target.

  • What’s the afore mentioned “Drachen’s Tail”? This is a little extra bonus for Week 9 but it’s not strictly tied to your Drachen so GG’s not giving up details on that until Sunday night’s update.

  • So far, GG only has a handful of Drachen proposals and remember, before you start your slayage, you need to get approval from GG on what you’re planning on doing!

Okay, that’s it for Friday. Have a great final full weekend of WF24 and good luck to all those going on the hunt for their Drachen!

GG

Week 8: Worth the wait?

Hallo Füsters!

Our ranks are slimming down as we approach this penultimate week of WF24. But what matters is you’re still here, putting in your all and taking the fight to your flank meat! GG is in incredibly impressed by your dedication and commitment to this never ending battle and is happy to tell you that we’re just under two weeks of game play to go . . . but what a two weeks it’s going to be!

  • New Individual and Haus Bonuses have been posted. And you’ll note this week we have the second of our tri-series bonuses coming to completion. The first was the three Park hikes last week (complete all three and you earned a +5p completion bonus) and now it’s the three Mt. Climbs (complete all three and earn a HUGE +10p bonus). But this final climb bonus is not for the feint of heart so prepare yourself for 3072ft of pain!

  • Homework, as always, has been updated. And remember, your Final Exam on is on the Finalefüste and it’s either 100 pushups or 200 situps or 300 squats. Pick your poison!

  • Tomorrow is your next to last Fastentag so only two more hangry Mondays to go. Clear liquide only from sun-up to sun-down. You got this!

  • Probably the biggest news for you to think over tonight is that we’re now less then one week from open season on your Drachen! More information will be released later this week but for those of you who are new here, “slaying your Drachen” means completing one continuous workout that is equal to FIVE Singelts and earns a monstrous +15p bonus! So you’ll want to start thinking about what you want to do here as all Drachen Slayage must first be proposed to GG for approval. Are you going to do 5 Singelt runs for a total of 15 miles? 5 Singelt bike rides for a total of 75 miles in the saddle? Or maybe a combo event like a two Singelt swims, a Singelt bike and a 10K run? Figure it out and let GG know! Drachen season opens next Sunday, March 3rd and goes through the FInalefüste!

  • And there’s a lot more to come during Week 9, affectionally known by those who survive it as Höllenwoche (use Google to translate that if you don’t already know)!

Alright, that’s it for this week’s update. No time for slacking now, Füsters! Around here we charge to the finish line!

GG

PS: This week’s Scavenger Hunt is to film yourself completing a 90 second Wall Holden (not sure what that is? Go HERE and scroll down to the video example) where you’re leaning against something and making it look like you’re holding it up with your effort. Be creative cause it’s late in the game and GG needs a good reason to sit through your whole video! Good luck!

Week 7: Isn't the back half supposed to be downhill? 🤔

Hallo Füsters!

Let GG be the first to congratulate you for making it all the way to Periode III! You may or may not have noticed that about 25% of those Füsters who started the journey with us back on January 2nd have either officially retired or just straight up ghosted GG (always a fun experience)! And so, as a thanks for being dedicated to both the game and to your own self improvement, GG awards you with TRIPPELT WORKOUTS! That’s right, they’re finally here! What’s a Trippelt? It’s either 3 seperate Singelts (e.g. a 5K run + a 1500 yard swim + a 7500m row) or a Singelt plus a Doppelt (e.g. 15 mile bike ride + a 10K run) or you can complete one of the Trippelt workout parameters as defined on the Schmerzenfüste page (go HERE to review because there are some changes to some of the Doppelt parameters too, as well as updated info on how to shorten a walk/hike by now carrying 25 pounds) . . . pro tip, the Trippelt workout parameters are traditionally a little less intense then doing three seperate Singelts or a Singelt/Doppelt combo.

On to this week’s update:

  • First thing’s first . . . here’s what you can do for exercise points this week: 3 Trippelts, 2 Doppelts, 1 Singelt and 1 day off (also now knowns as a “Lazy Long Dog Day”).

  • Next, new bonuses are posted and remember that as Periode II just ended, so did all those bonuses that were available for the last three weeks. If you didn’t knock em out, well, better luck next Füste! Now it’s time to concentrate on the final 3 weeks of bonuses! What’s past is past (unless it’s a pseudo Leap Year 🧐). Go HERE to review the new bonuses.

  • Your homework requirement has been updated (and don’t forget, we’re a couple weeks out from a 3 minute plank AND your Final Exam etc. so time for one last big push!). Go HERE to check out your assigned homework for Week 7!

  • Tomorrow’s your 7th Fastentag. Only three more days of being hangry and having a veriafiable excuse for being terrible to your co-workers on Mondays! Remember, clear liquids only from dawn to dusk.

  • Scavenger Hunt #7: Get a stranger to say “For the Füste” on camera (while making whatever hand gesture you feel is appropriate to represent this experience) and send to GG to earn your +1p Haus hunt bonus!

  • Did GG mention Trippelts are now in play?

Finally, as GG mentioned in one of last week’s texts, because there was a mess up around the Weighted Walk #2 bonus (30 pounds over 3 miles) during Week 6, GG is allowing you to complete it this week if needed. But since it won’t show up on the DRT, you need to let GG know you did it so he can score it for you.

That’s it for tonight, Füsters! For those in NorCal, enjoy a couple more days of rain and Winter weather. Spring will be here before we know it (and so will Sprungfüsten . . . 😎).

Have a great Week 7 and may the Füste be with you always!
